NNPS Partnership Model

No topic in education generates greater agreement than the need for positive parental involvement. Everyone wants it, but most educators need help in developing productive programs that involve family and community partners in ways that boost student success in school.

Research shows that school, family, and community partnerships must be understood as an essential component of district leadership and school and classroom organization. Well-implemented, goal-oriented programs and practices of family and community involvement can help increase student learning and development. It takes time, organization, and effort to develop excellent programs.

Educators, researchers, parents, students, and community members are working together in the National Network of Partnership Schools (NNPS) at Johns Hopkins University to develop and maintain effective partnership programs.
